What is the aim of the website?
Simply put, the aim of the website is to provide students in the universities all over Ireland with valuable information and tips in an entertaining way which enables them to flourish during their time in college. In order to appeal to the differing lifestyles students live, the website contains a huge variety of information ranging from places to eat and upcoming events to tourist attractions in Dublin and across the country.
Why are we doing this?
We are a group of marketing students currently studying in the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business. A class project has given us the opportunity to create a website on a topic of our choice. Our idea was to create a blog which acts as a Student Guide to Ireland with the primary emphasis being on international students in the country, as well as those native students who need some tips or advice. Being a group containing 3 Irish students (from different counties) and one Spanish international student, we feel like we have the perfect dynamic to construct such a guide. Not only do we have the knowledge of the country through the Irish aspect of the group, but we have direct insight into what international students want to know when coming to live in a country, allowing us to provide content that is relevant and useful.
Where are we based?
As previously mentioned, we are currently a group of four students attending university in a town called Blackrock in Dublin, Ireland. The blog will predominantly focus on Dublin due to its greater population and concentration of colleges, but, in addition, will also feature content about other areas of the country. With three major universities within the capital city, Dublin has become a young and vibrant city with endless possibilities.
